Final course on communicating at the science-policy interface: communicating with policy makers, by Jerry Harrison, Specialist of Ecosystem Assessment and Policy Support at UNEP-WCMC.
The course included tips on how to make an effective policy brief, as well as an overview of the ways in which scientific information can influence policy decision-making processes, with a focus on the Convention on Biological Diversity as example. A great opportunity for the fellows to benefit from Jerry’s nearly 40 years of hands-on experience providing support to policy negotiations.
This course closes Training Session 4 – Theory & practice of communicating at the science-policy interface, which took place remotely. This training Session 4 was co-organised by the Zoological Society of London and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, with the participation of UNEP-WCMC.
